The Internal Revenue Service approved the Allison’s application for tax exemption granting the fire company a 501c3 designation. The application classifies the Company as a charitable organization under IRS regulations.
One of the most distinct provisions unique to Section 501(c)(3) organizations as compared with other tax exempt entities is the tax deductibility of donations. 26 U.S.C. § 170, provides a deduction, for federal income tax purposes, for donors who make charitable contributions to most types of 501(c)(3) organizations.
Donations to the Allison Hook & Ladder Co. No. 2 will normally be tax deductible to the donor to the extent that the law provides. Potential donors who have specific questions about tax deductibility should contact their personal tax advisor.
The Officers and Members of the Allison are committed to transparency in all our interaction with the public. We will be posting our IRS determination letter in a new section of this website that will allow our visitors to examine those public documents that govern us as a non profit volunteer fire company within the Harrisburg Bureau of Fire.
